Butterflies
For babies 3+ months

Designed to meet the needs of the tiniest members of Brookfield Day Nursery. It allows for safety while providing stimulation and opportunities for exploration.

We value the importance of 'continuity of care' and adopt a 'key worker' system for each baby allowing us to work closely with parent to tailor baby's individual routine to reflect home routine as much as possible. .

The Brookfield Babies will be stimulated using all their senses, encouraged to explore and learn new skills, helping them gain confidence in all areas of their development in a happy and caring environment.

Brookfield Butterflies follows birth to 3 matters when planning activities and learning opportunities for babies ensuring that all follow a multi-sensory ethos.

Ladybirds
For children 1+ years
​

An extension of development from the Butterfly room, where children are cared for in a 'Key worker' situation. Close monitoring and preparation for
their transition into this room is discussed with parents beforehand and the children are
familiarised with the changes in environment over
a period of time. -
Play in this room is very important to their development. Playing alongside their peers,
freedom of movement and exploration. -
Development of language skills through song and rhyme and interaction with their carers.

The Ethos of a multi-sensory environment and the children will have a very hands on and gentle approach to their experiences. Repetition and the opportunity to build on their new-found skills
will be provided and encouraged. -
Direct access to the outdoor play and activities.

self help skills, confidence and independence by offering activities that support learning through quality play aided by fully trained and motivated staff. -
Foundation phases education is adopted covering
7 areas of the curriculum learning, with specific emphases on the natural environment. -
We pride ourselves on our diverse play areas
offering freedom of choice, decision making and problem solving. -
Access to our extensive outdoor areas are freely available to explore throughout the day.

Bumblebees
For children 2+ years

The Brookfield Bumble Bees are nurtured and cared for by a team of dedicated staff who enable close monitoring of development & behavior and offers the children opportunity to grow in confidence and develop a positive self image.

Opportunities through daily activities and routines to practice their skills and levels of independence without adult intervention.

A multi-sensory learning environment through a full and varied programme of daily events.

Outdoor play is a big part in their daily routine, providing many opportunities to practice physical skills, explore the environment and have fun in the many areas with friends and carers.

Outdoor play offers many exciting play experiences, it promotes well-being and co-operative play and further develops physical ability.
